If a new report is to be believed, the morning talk show's executive producers set their eyes on the 'American Idol' host, who recently departed from 'Live with Kelly and Ryan'.

AceShowbiz - "Good Morning America" execs have set their eyes on a new anchor to replace T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach following their controversial affair. If a new report is to be believed, they are considering Ryan Seacrest taking over the hosting duties on the popular morning talk show.

"It's a great fit for Ryan and the perfect fit for 'GMA', which is looking to restore its family-friendly reputation!" a source told theJasmineBRAND. "[Seacrest] sees 'GMA' as the perfect vehicle for him to be center stage again."

Meanwhile, an insider claimed that ABC is planning to bring the show in a different direction. "Network bosses are looking at completely retooling 'GMA3' with a live audience, music and celebrity guests in an effort to play to Ryan's strengths and wash away the stain of the scandal," the informant spilled.

The report came in the wake of his exit from "Live With Kelly and Ryan". The "American Idol" host said of his departure, "Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career." Further gushing over his former co-host Kelly Ripa, Ryan continued, "She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other's lives, I will miss our mornings together."

T.J. and Amy, who began anchoring "GMA3" together almost three years ago, were initially temporarily suspended from "GMA 3" after their affair went public. Ultimately, following a months-long investigation, ABC decided to part ways with the news anchors.

"After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions," a company spokesperson said in a statement.
