The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress is taking a break from 'silly' social media after she responded to allegations that the Kylie Cosmetics founder shaded her.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez finds social media too hard to navigate in her early 30s. The actress/singer, who officially entered the third decade of her life in July 2022, jokes that she's "too old" as she announces her hiatus from social media.
The "Only Murders in the Building" star took to TikTok Live on Thursday, February 23 to inform her followers that she will take a break from the platform and her other social media accounts for the time being. "I'm gonna be taking a second from social media cause this is a little silly and I'm 30. I'm too old for this," she said to her fans.
Promising that it will not be permanent, the former Disney starlet added, "But I love you so much and I'll see you guys sooner than later." She also hinted at needing a downtime as saying, "I'm just gonna take a break from everything."
Selena didn't elaborate further on the reason why she wants to stay away from social media, but her decision comes in light of speculation that Kylie Jenner mocked Selena's eyebrows on her Instagram Stories. A TikToker claimed that the reality TV star appeared to ridicule Selena's eyebrows after the latter shared a video in which she said that she "accidentally laminated [her] eyebrows too much."
Three hours after Selena shared the video, Kylie posted a selfie of herself and wrote, "this was an accident??" The makeup mogul additionally made fans further think that she's shading Selena with her next post. She shared what seemed to be a screenshot of her Facetime call with Hailey Bieber (Hailey Baldwin) and the pic suspiciously zoomed in on their eyebrows.
Kylie then set things straight by writing in the comment of a TikTok video, "this is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and i didn't see her eyebrow posts!" "The Kardashians" star added, "u guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."
Selena also responded to the claims, writing on Wednesday, "Agreed @kyliejenner It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!"
Previously, Selena played down speculation that Hailey dissed her. "It's ok! I don't let these things get me down! Be nice to everyone! X," the star wrote in the comment of a TikTok video.
Hailey herself denied that the video, in which she, Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye mouthed, "I'm not saying she deserved it, but I'm saying God's timing is always right," was about Selena. "I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girls night and did a random tik tok sound for fun. It's not directed at anyone," so the 26-year-old model commented on a post discussing the drama.
