It was previously reported that season 5 of the Paramount Network hit series might be its last due to a behind-the-scenes dispute regarding the leading man's filming schedule.

AceShowbiz - "Yellowstone" star Kevin Costner has weighed in on rumors that he's difficult to work with on the set of the Paramount Network series. Through his attorney Marty Singer, the actor shut down the claim as he dubbed it "ridiculous."

"The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of 'Yellowstone' is an absolute lie," Marty said on Tuesday, February 21 via Vulture. "It's ridiculous - and anyone suggesting it shouldn't be believed for one second."

He continued, "As everyone who knows anything about Kevin and is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success."

A rep for Paramount also shared a brief statement in response to the rumor. "As we previously stated, Kevin has been a key component of the success of our Yellowstone series, and we hope that continues from here on out," it stated.

The statements arrived after it was reported that season 5 of "Yellowstone" might be its last due to a behind-the-scenes dispute regarding the leading man. Deadline stated at the time, "The crux of the issue… involves Costner and disagreements over schedules."

The Oscar-winning star originally allotted himself 65 days to film the first part of the show's current fifth season, but he changed his mind and wanted to film for 50 days only. As the cast is currently shooting the second half of the episodes, the actor allegedly wanted to limit it to just one week of shooting on the remaining eight episodes of season 5.

It was also said that Kevin's request caused a rift with not only series creator Taylor Sheridan, but also his other co-stars. Kevin's filming schedule allegedly was a "source of frustration" for Taylor. It's also "causing morale problems with his co-stars, who includes Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and Gil Birmingham." Paramount Network reportedly declined Kevin's alleged one-week-only work proposal.

Previous report also noted that the network was planning to launch a new spin-off of "Yellowstone" starring Matthew McConaughey. According to the reports, the alleged planned show is set to air on the linear cable channel Paramount Network and then stream exclusively on Paramount+.
