AceShowbiz - Jen Shah appears to be apologetic to her victims. After reporting to prison, "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" took to her Instagram account to address her fraud scandal. The 49-year-old star said in the Friday, February 17 post that her beginning her prison sentence is "the price I must pay for the bad decisions I made."

She added, "People got hurt because of my decisions." She shared, "While incarcerated, I will work to make amends and reconcile with the victims of my crime."

Jen additionally attached a link to an interview on YouTube, in which she talked about how she was "lying to herself" because she didn't want to "believe" that she had committed an actual crime. "In time, I pray that people will judge me for the way I responded to this sentence, rather than only for the decisions that led me to prison," the reality star added in her post.

"I'll publish my work and make the road transparent, inviting others to hold me accountable. I am a believer in earning freedom, and I'll work toward the goal by making things right with the people I hurt."

Jen reported to prison to start her prison sentence for her controversial telemarketing fraud scheme on Friday, entering FPC Bryan Prison in Bryan, Texas. According to Page Six, the 37-acre campus is often described as a "cushy" prison and is a minimum-security facility for women.

The Bravo personality, who initially pleaded not guilty, was sentenced on January 6 after being convicted of scamming elderly citizens out of millions of dollars in the telemarketing scheme she ran from at least 2012 to March 2021. A press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York also revealed that she's required "to forfeit $6,500,000, 30 luxury items, and 78 counterfeit luxury items, and to pay $6,645,251 in restitution."

"Jen Shah deeply regrets the mistakes that she has made and is profoundly sorry to the people she has hurt," her lawyer said at the time. "Jen has faith in our justice system, understands that anyone who breaks the law will be punished, and accepts this sentence as just. Jen will pay her debt to society and when she is a free woman again, she vows to pay her debt to the victims harmed by her mistakes."
