Joined by Maverick City Music onstage, Quavo performs 'Without You' solo before two members of the choir sing 'See You Again' by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa.

AceShowbiz - Quavo has led a tribute to Takeoff at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Joined by Maverick City Music at the Sunday, February 5 ceremony, he took the stage to perform "Without You" without another surviving member of Migos, Offset.

The rapper was dressed in an all-black outfit with a simple silver chain and a mask that covered half his face. He began the "In Memoriam" tribute sitting on a stool surrounded by the choir singers while pictures of his late nephew Takeoff and other late musicians such as Anita Pointer, Coolio and Stephen "Twitch" Boss flashed on the giant screen behind him.

Halfway through his performance, two members of the choir joined in to sing "See You Again" by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa. They went on harmonizing while Quavo flashed the audience with Takeoff's diamond-encrusted chain hung at the center of the stage.

Just before Quavo, Kacey Musgraves honored Loretta Lynn, who died in her sleep in October 2022 at age 90, with a performance of Lynn's famous song "Coal Miner's Daughter". Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood and Bonnie Raitt also took to the stage to honor Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie, who died in November 2022 at age 79 "following a short illness," with their rendition of "Songbird".

Quavo's tribute marks his first live performance since he witnessed Takeoff's death at a bowling alley in Houston in October 2022. Following a funeral for the late rapper, Quavo posted a lengthy tribute to Instagram. "It's so hard to tell you Ima miss you because you [were] always with me and we did everything together. Thought we were gonna be pro wrestlers," he wrote.

"This whole time I've been trying to figure what you really are to me because nephew wasn't it. We hated that word 'nephew' or when they said 'Unc and Phew' cuz we always knew we were closer than that and it made me feel old too," he said, before concluding. "But I knew you weren't my brother cuz you are my sister's son, so I couldn't say brother. Now I finally get it… you are OUR angel (sic)."

In January, Quavo released the heartbreaking song "Without You", on which he bids farewell to his late nephew.
