The 'Lost Daughter' actress pokes fun at the 'Call Me by Your Name' star's alleged text messages detailing his cannibalism fantasies when introducing director Luca Guadagnino and talking about his works.

AceShowbiz - Dakota Johnson couldn't help poking fun at Armie Hammer when she had the chance to speak at the Sundance Film Festival 2023. Kicking off the festival at Park City's Basin Recreation Fieldhouse on Thursday evening, January 19, she roasted the embattled actor with cannibalism joke.
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress was on hand as the first presenter at the festival's Opening Night: A Taste of Sundance Presented by IMDbPro event, where she honored Luca Guadagnino with the International Icon Award. While introducing the director, who directed her in 2018's "Suspiria", she joked about Hammer's alleged cannibalism fantasies as she spoke about Guadagnino's film "Call Me by Your Name" starring Hammer and Timothee Chalamet.
"Sadly, I wasn't in that one," the 33-year-old beauty said, admitting that she's often jealous of other actors who get to work with the Italian filmmaker. "It was unfortunate."
The daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith went on joking that she was almost cast as a peach in the movie. "Luca had asked me to play the role of the peach but our schedules conflicted," she told the audience. "Thank God, though, because then I would've been another woman that Armie Hammer tried to eat."
Hammer's character Oliver discovers the peach but doesn't eat it like his character does in the novel, on which the film is based.
Johnson then nodded to Guadagnino's more recent cannibal love story, "Bones and All". She quipped, "It's been five years since ['Call Me by Your Name'] premiered here and Luca hasn't stopped taking us to exciting places. Who knew cannibalism was so popular?"
Johnson co-starred Hammer in 2010's film "The Social Network". She once defended the 36-year-old actor when talking about serious allegations against the actor and others like Shia LaBeouf and Johnny Depp.
"I never experienced that firsthand from any of those people," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021. "I had an incredible time working with them; I feel sad for the loss of great artists. I feel sad for people needing help and perhaps not getting it in time. I feel sad for anyone who was harmed or hurt. It's just really sad. I do believe that people can change."
