Confirming the split was Avery through a TikTok video shared on Saturday, December 17. The clip featured footage from their vacation on the Royal Caribbean cruise, where JoJo told her while holding an arcade game prize, "This is my 'I'm sorry I'm breaking up with you' present."
The statement prompted fans to rush to the comment section to ask what happened between the two. After one person question, "Now I just want to know why," Avery responded, "We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out!"
JoJo has yet to publicly address the breakup. The YouTube sensation herself confirmed her romance with Avery two months after her ex Kylie Prew announced their split following a brief reconciliation.
Back in August, Kylie told her followers in a live video posted on TikTok, "Someone asked me, just now, if I was single. I am. I been single for almost two months, and it's OK, it's not deep, I promise." She added, "Everything's fine. Not everything has to be messy and gross. Because it's not. And I just wanted to clear the air."
On September 14, JoJo and Avery made their red carpet debut as a couple. The pair put on a loved-up front while attending the opening night of Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" musical at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.
