AceShowbiz - The Weeknd has thrilled fans with a surprise preview of his upcoming single from "Avatar: The Way of Water" soundtrack. Days after teasing a collaboration with the movie, the Canadian crooner shared a snippet of the song, titled "Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)".

The 32-year-old singer shared the snippet on his social media platforms on Wednesday, December 7. "#AvatarTheWayofWater THE MOTION PICTURE EVENT OF A GENERATION. Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength) Music Dec 15 + Film Dec 16," he wrote alongside the clip.

According to a press release, the song was written by The Weeknd and produced by his frequent collaborator, Swedish House Mafia, as well as Simon Franglen. The tune itself "speaks to the epic scope, breathtaking action, and thrilling drama of the film itself."

The "Save Your Tears" hitmaker first teased his involvement in the long-awaited sequel to 2009's "Avatar" on Sunday. At that time, he shared on Twitter and Instagram a 12-second music clip featuring the blue Avatar logo. In the caption of the post, he simply wrote "12.16.22."

The dramatic reveal features the sequel's logo, along with a few seconds of the tune. It's a choral track, filled with building battle drums that punctuate the giant blue-colored "A" that fills the frame.

"Avatar: The Way of Water", which is over three-hours long (190 minutes), will open in theaters across the nation on December 16. Director James Cameron has per-preemptively shut down critics of the runtime, saying back in May, "I don't want anybody whining about length when they sit and binge-watch [television] for eight hours.... It's OK to get up and go pee."
