AceShowbiz - Kanye West landed in hot water shortly after he made a return to Twitter. The 45-year-old rapper/designer was slammed online over one of his first two tweets since his account on the blue bird app was reinstated.
In the said controversial tweet, the "Donda" rapper wrote, "Shalom :)." Some people believed that Ye made light of his anti-Semitic controversy by using the Hebrew word in his first two posts on the platform upon returning.
While Shalom means peace, harmony and wholeness, it can also be used idiomatically to mean both hello and goodbye. One user, who felt offended by the tweet, wrote to the Yeezy designer, "So now it's a joke? This is just so ridiculous."
Someone else fumed, "Not funny, antisemite. Go away. You are universally hated." A third user said, "Nothing funny about hate," while a fourth asked the ex-husband of Kim Kardashian to "please just leave us alone."
On Sunday, November 20, Ye wrote to his 31.9 million followers, "Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked." It marked the hip-hop star's first tweet since November 4.
Ye's account was previously suspended following his threat to go "death [sic] con 3 on Jewish people." The blue-bird app cited "a violation of Twitter's policies" as the reason for the hip-hop star/designer's restriction.
His controversial remarks also got the "God Digger" spitter's Instagram account suspended. After his posts were removed by Instagram's owner Meta, Ye ranted at Mark Zuckerberg on the platform. He said, "Look at this, Mark. How you gone kick me off Instagram. You use to be my n***a."
A Meta spokesperson told Mail Online, "We may place restrictions on accounts that repeatedly break our rules." At the time, Ye's Twitter account was still active, but he couldn't post until the suspension ended.
In his return to Instagram, Ye opted to use the opportunity to share a message to Adidas and Gap, both of which dropped him amid his scandals. In his post, Ye posted a screenshot of texts from someone who seemed to be from Quinn Emanuel.
The law firm's person told the musician, "As to adidas, you can start to make new designs for footwear, apparel and accessories immediately. As to Gap, the non-compete expires December 15, 2022. You own the Yeezy name and all trademarks associated with Yeezy." Meanwhile, the Yeezy designer wrote in the caption, "I haven't got supermodel p***y in over a month. Please send help."
