Kanye West's Bully debuts at No. 2 on Billboard 200, ending his 21-album streak of solo No. 1s, as BTS blocks the top spot.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West's latest album Bully has made a strong impression on the Billboard 200 chart despite the surrounding controversies prior to its release.
The album entered the chart at number two, moving 152,000 equivalent units in its first week, according to Billboard. This total includes 96,000 units from streaming, which accounted for 98.43 million on-demand official streams, while the remaining 56,000 units came from traditional sales.
Bully was held off from the top spot by the global sensation BTS. Their 10th album ARIRANG amassed 187,000 equivalent units in its second week after debuting at number one with 641,000 units.
This outcome ends Kanye West's impressive run of 21 consecutive number one solo albums. Bully is only the second solo LP from Ye to miss the top position on the Billboard 200 since his 2004 debut The College Dropout, which also peaked at number two.
However, there is some dispute over the reported sales figures. Gamma., the distribution company founded by former Apple Music executive Larry Jackson that handled Bully, claims the album actually earned over 200,000 equivalent units in its first week. This number would have secured the number one spot, surpassing BTS.
On its Instagram Stories, Gamma. provided a detailed "full seven-day sales and consumption" breakdown, asserting that Bully generated a total of 200,997 units. As of now, neither Billboard nor Luminate, the data provider for the Billboard charts, have responded to those claims.
Despite already containing a substantial 18 tracks, Bully may soon be expanded. Gamma. teased a deluxe edition on Instagram Stories with the message: "Bully deluxe on the way." No further details such as release date or additional tracks have been revealed yet.
Meanwhile, Ye's upcoming headline performances at London’s Wireless Festival in July are attracting significant attention due to his previous antisemitic remarks. Several major sponsors, including Pepsi, Paypal, and Diageo, have withdrawn their support for the festival in recent days.
Political figures have also weighed in, with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer calling the booking "deeply concerning" given Kanye West's history of antisemitic comments and controversial behavior. London Mayor Sadiq Khan has similarly expressed opposition.
Ye recently completed two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium promoting Bully and is scheduled to headline all three nights of Wireless Festival despite the backlash.
