AceShowbiz - Stormzy has opened up about his close bond with Adele. The "Hide & Seek" rapper, who has been friends with the "Easy on Me" hitmaker for years, called her his family in a new interview.
When walking the carpet at the 2022 MTV EMAs at PSD Bank Dome in Duesseldorf, Germany, the emcee spoke to Tonight and admitted that he was a fan of Adele. "As anyone knows, from before I even knew her, I was a fan," he confessed.
"I think everyone just knows that the woman they see is as remarkable in real life as when the cameras are rolling," Stormzy further gushed, before explaining what his and Adele's hangout might look like. He said, "Real normal conversations that you have with a friend. Nothing headline-grabbing... Just, that's my family. I love her, yeah."
Stormzy and Adele first met in 2017 at her Brixton Academy gig. They have since maintained a good friendship and often showed support to one another. Adele, who's now dating sports agent Rich Paul, once praised Stormzy for his Glastonbury performance back in 2019.
Sharing a photo of her pal on Instagram, the "Chasing Pavements" songstress raved, "I have love in abundance for this strong, sweet and honest man. I'm so proud of him, Stormzy just monumentally headlined Glastonbury in his own right with one album!!" She added, "The first Grime artist ever to do so, you respected everyone that opened the door for you whilst opening a huge one yourself.
You and your team are all so good, hard working and beautiful and deserve everything that comes your way. Its been a joy to watch you unfold at lightning speed with absolute grace," the Grammy-winning artist continued. "It's actually crazy what you've done in less than 3 years, well done darling x. Well done Emily Eavis too, Glasto couldn't be in a better pair of hands!"
