The former 'Lizzie McGuire' star speaks against the release of the late singer's posthumous memoir that details how the former couple allegedly lost their virginity to each other when they were preteens.

AceShowbiz - Hilary Duff has slammed Aaron Carter's upcoming memoir that details how he allegedly took her virginity when she was 13. Singling out the publisher of the tell-all, the singer/actress calls it "disgusting" that the publisher wants to "capitalize" on his tragic death.

"It's really sad...," the former "Lizzie McGuire" star says in a statement to Daily Mail, "...that within a week of Aaron's death, there's a publisher that seems to be recklessly pushing a book out to capitalize on this tragedy without taking appropriate time or care to fact check the validity of his work."

"To water down Aaron's life story to what seems to be unverified click-bait for profit is disgusting," she adds, before denouncing the book, "In no way do I condone shedding any light on what is so obviously an uninformed, heartless, money grab."

Hilary's statement comes after an excerpt of the tell-all, titled "Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life", was released by New York Post on Thursday, November 10. In the book, which was co-written over a three-year period with author Andy Symonds, the "I Want Candy" singer opened up about his on-and-off relationship with Hilary from 2000 until 2003, when they were both teen idols.

"Hilary and I lost our virginity to each other at a hotel... in LA," read the excerpt. "I think it was her birthday, maybe her 13th [September 28 2000], but I don’t remember. Her friends walked in, and we just yelled at them to get out."

Aaron previously revealed he started dating Hilary on his 13th birthday, which was on December 7, 2000. "I was dating her for like a year-and-a-half, then I just got a little bored so I went and I started getting to know Lindsay, dating Lindsay," he shared. Lindsay Lohan, Aaron and Hilary were famously embroiled in a love triangle at the time.

The incomplete memoir will still be published on November 15, just ten days after Aaron was found dead in the bath at his California home on November 5. In announcing the decision, author Andy Symonds felt he "owed it" to the star to put his autobiography out into the world.

In her tribute to Aaron after his death, Hilary previously wrote on Instagram, "For-Aaron- I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world." The 35-year-old actress added, "You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent ... boy did my teenage self love you deeply."
