AceShowbiz - Offset decided to postpone the release of his solo album in the wake of Takeoff's death. While he has yet to share an official announcement, the husband of Cardi B confirmed the news in an Instagram DM with a fan.
In a screenshot of the DM, the fan asked, "It's probably the last thing on your mind, but is your album still dropping Friday?" In response, the 30-year-old emcee simply replied, "No pushed back."
Offset previously announced that he would release his sophomore album on Friday, November 11. At that time, he declared on Twitter, "11/11/22, before adding in a follow-up post, "Album !!!!!!!!"
The "5 4 3 2 1" spitter was among those who's devastated upon learning of Takeoff's tragic passing despite Migos split rumors. To honor his bandmate, he changed his Instagram profile picture to a smiling photo of the late 28-year-old star. In the photo, Offset appeared to add a small white heart in the corner.
Cardi, who's married to Offset and shares two children, 4-year-old Kulture and 1-year-old Wave, with the rapper, also addressed Takeoff's shocking death on Wednesday by retweeting a throwback interview clip of Migos speaking to Complex.
In the footage, Offset, Takeoff and Quavo were asked about the best gift they'd ever received. "My best gift from my brothers is my brothers. None of us would be here without each other. We've held each other up through hard times, through good times. We're with each other. We're all we got. I don't know nothing else," said Offset in the clip.
Takeoff agreed with Offset in the interview before showing off a ring he received from his mother featuring a photo of them together from his infant years. "It's always gonna stay with me... I ain't gonna never take it off," he said at the time.
Takeoff was shot and killed during an altercation that broke out at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas on November 1. His fellow Migos member and uncle Quavo was present at the location and was seen being involved in an argument before a gunman fired shots.
