The rap mogul ramps up security for the lavish birthday celebration in his Los Angeles mansion after a previous gun incident and after Takeoff and PnB Rock were tragically shot dead.

AceShowbiz - Sean "P. Diddy" Combs goes beyond to make sure his guests are safe at his 53rd birthday party. The "I'll Be Missing You" rapper hired extra security for the star-studded celebration after a previous gun incident and recent hip-hop fatal shootings.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ on Tuesday, November 8 that metal detectors were used to screen guests for the bash which was held on Friday, November 4 at his Los Angeles mansion. A nearby street was shut down and only approved guests were taken to the party via a shuttle bus.

The ramped-up security came after an incident this past June when a woman with a loaded firearm was arrested outside of the home at a BET Awards afterparty after flashing the gun at others.

The birthday celebration also occurred in the wake of two tragic gun deaths in the hip-hop community, as Migos rapper Takeoff was fatally shot at 28 in Houston earlier this month, while PnB Rock was shot to death at 30 in September in Los Angeles.

A number of celebrities were in attendance at the birthday party. Among those were Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Travis Scott (II), Machine Gun Kelly, Chris Brown, French Montana, Teyana Taylor, Tinashe, Kehlani and Jermaine Dupri.

Diddy took to Instagram on Tuesday with a montage of moments from the birthday party. He captioned the clip, "It was a gorgeous night! Ain't no party like a Diddy party!" The rapper began his posts with footage that showed off the property where the party would be held.

Diddy also included a clip of a chef from Nobu preparing sushi for the event's guests and a video of himself receiving a brand new chain that featured a sparkling medallion. He could also be seen wishing himself a happy birthday after opening his gift, much to the enjoyment of his guests.

The entrepreneur, clad in a black velvet jacket and a matching pair of pants, later promoted his tequila brand Deleon by sharing a clip of a lavish table of fruit that was adorned with several shot glasses.
