The New York representative is trolled by social media users after he appears to shoot his shot with the 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' alum amid cheating allegations against her fiance.

AceShowbiz - Congressman Jamaal Bowman has perhaps let true his feeling about Nia Long be known amid Ime Udoka's cheating scandal. The New York representative has been roasted online after he tweeted an intimate support to the actress.

Defending "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" alum amid her fiance's alleged infidelity, Jamaal posted on Twitter, "Sending nothing but love to Nia Long. We're not letting a man, who didn't recognize the luxury her presence was, dim all her beauty and glory." He added, "Matter of fact, we need a Nia Long national holiday!"

Some people saw Jamaal's tweet of support as a subtle way of him shooting his shot with Nia, prompting social media users to troll him. One person reacted to his confusing message, "Who told you to shoot this shot?!"

Another commented, "You couldn't just slide into her DMs." A baffled user reacted, "Bruh this isn't it." Unimpressed with Jamaal's remark, another said, "I just really want y'all to do your job." Someone else mocked the 46-year-old politician, "You can't tell me that the founding fathers could have predicted a time where Congressman would shoot their shot at celebrities via Twitter."

Noticing the reactions to his tweet, Jamaal quickly returned to the blue-bird app to clarify his earlier remark. The married congressman clapped back at the critics, "Hahaha, ya'll hilarious. Y'all do know it's okay for a man to show a woman love and support without shooting his shot? That's actually a thing."

The Boston Celtics announced on Thursday, September 22 that Ime, their second-year head coach, is suspended for the entire 2022-23 NBA season for violations of the team's code of conduct. The decision was made following reports that he engaged in an improper, but consensual relationship with a female staff member.

Following the team's decision, Ime said in a statement, "I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down." The 45-year-old added, "I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team's decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment."

Nia herself has broken her silence on Ime's alleged affair. "The outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the community during this difficult time means so much to me," the 51-year-old said through her spokeswoman. "I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children."

Words are Ime kept Nia in the dark about his affair, though his team had busted him months ago and launched an investigation into the matter. He let her and their 10-year-old son Kez move to Boston just two weeks ago, fully aware that his affair with a married front office staffer was about to blow up. According to TMZ, Nia only found out about it in the last few days and only because Ime knew it was about to go public.

Meanwhile, another report claims that the Celtics first became aware of Ime's relationship with a female staff member in July, but chose not to do anything at the time, believing it was consensual. However, the woman recently accused Ime of making unwanted comments toward her, which led to the internal investigation and his suspension.
