AceShowbiz - Grimes has set tounges wagging with her recent social media post. Fans believed that the "Genesis" singer has undergone "elf ear" surgery after she shared a photo of her bandaged face.
The 34-year-old, born Claire Elise Boucher, posted the said picture on Twitter on Saturday, September 17. In the accompaniment of the post, she simply wrote, "I did smthn crazy!"
Many have since flooded the reply section. "I hope she got them, I would be so excited!" one user gushed, while another asked, "YOU DID THE EARS???" A third added, "Omg whos your surgeon u look amazing."
Others, however, were less than impressed by the selife. One individual commented, "Turned into an egg?" Another wondered, "Is she craving 4 attention?" Someone else, meanwhile, asked in disbelief, "mother what have you done…?"
Grimes first hinted at her desire to get "elf ear surgery" in mid-August. "Has anyone done elf ear mods with a good outcome? Im scared about ear cartilage having a hard time healing," she tweeted at that time.
"Especially as a musician this surgery seems risky but I’ve wanted it my whole life," the Canadian artist continued. "Curious about peoples experiences !"
The post did not go unnoticed by Grimes' ex Elon Musk, with whom she shares two children together. Seemingly disapproved of the idea, the Tesla CEO replied, "The downside of elf ear surgery probably outweighs the upside."
Just days before sharing the bandaged selfie, Grimes revealed her health struggles. Confirming that her hotly-anticipated follow-up to 2020's "Miss Anthropocene" is finished on her part, she first penned, "Album is done. Waiting on approvals for next single and mixing."
Grimes went on to share that she had a "really intense medical situation" in spring this year, and she's thankful for the delay in the release as she's still recovering. She wrote, "I had a rly intense medical situation in the spring so I am relishing the delay tbh. The delay is kinda convenient cuz I'm just getting back to health. (sic)"
