The former cast member of the 2010s reality series was found dead at age 24 inside an abandoned California home, according to San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.

AceShowbiz - Ashley Tropez, best known for her stint on "Beyond Scared Straight", has tragically passed away. The former reality TV star was found dead inside an abandoned California home last week. She was only 24 years old.

Per press release from San Bernardino Sheriff's Department, on Friday, August 26, Victorville Police Department deputies responded to a report of a dead body located inside a home in the 16600 block of Victor Street at around 11:10 A.M. She appeared to be suffering from traumatic injuries.

Following the body discovery, members of the Sheriff's Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail launched an investigation. They have since arrested another 24-year-old woman named Alexis Call, who is believed to be responsible for Ashley's death.

Investigators learned that Ashley and Alexis were familiar to each other and may have been squatting at the residence before Ashley's passing. Alexis was booked on a murder charge and she's being held at High Desert Detention Center until her court date, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30.

Further details have not been released pending investigation as authorities seek people's help to provide more information related to the case.

Ashley appeared on A&E's "Beyond Scared Straight", which aired from 2011 until 2015, when she was 17 years old. The Emmy-nominated series follows teenagers who have been brought to crime prevention programs in an effort to prevent them from ending up behind bars. On the show, troubled teenagers spend one to three days in prison to learn from the inmates about the realities of being incarcerated.

During her episode, Ashley said that she was brought into the program for "fighting and selling weed." A year later, the then-teenager shared that her time on the show did not change her views. "I'm still the same person," she said, as quoted by The Sun. "I just be everywhere, from friends to family's houses. Just chilling."

Throughout its 9-season run, "Beyond Scared Straight" has profiled 331 teenagers across 29 prisons and jails. The series aired its final episode on September 3, 2015.
