AceShowbiz - Teyana Taylor discussed open relationships and polyamory in a new episode of "Luv2SeeIt", a joint effort between the singer and popular dating app Bumble. Alongside Jidenna and Joey Bada$$, the "Bare Wit Me" performer and the guests spoke about their experiences with polyamory and an open relationship.
In the episode, Teyana brought the topic about the false perception that women are on the sidelines while their men are facilitating open relationships. She noted that in her relationship with husband Iman Shumpert, any sexual decisions that they made is what she wants.
"People be surprised by how the woman initiates a lot of stuff," the singer revealed. "I'm not poly, but when everybody heard that me and my husband had threesomes before, they were like, 'She's willing to do that to keep a man,' but that was all me!"
It's no secret that Teyana and Iman are into threesome, something that earns her criticism for years. She got candid about their unusual sexual rendezvous on her album "K.T.S.E.", which featured a song called "3Way" about having a threesome.
Instead of praising the couple, some fans found the details of her boudoir tasteless. "A few weeks ago @TeyanaTaylor and @ImanShumpert were relationship goals. Now I just feel like her interview was tasteless and shows a lack of self respect. Let this be a lesson. What you and your husband do should be left in the room," someone criticized them back in 2018.
Hitting back at the critic, Teyana wrote to the person, "Let what be a lesson petunia!?" She added, "I'm not losing any sleep at night over UR opinion. Just because I, ME I repeat ME enjoy bussing b***hes down from time to time w/ MY HUSBAND, doesn't mean I don't respect 'self.' So, u should go and enjoy your wack a** sex life & stay out of mine."
Later in 2019, it was also rumored that Iman impregnated their alleged threesome buddy. The basketball player sparked the rumors after he left heart eyes emoji under a picture of porn star Alby Rydes' newborn baby, prompting people to assume that he's the father of the child.
In response to the speculations, Teyana took to her Twitter account to set the record straight. "1. I've never seen/touched that girl in my life," the singer explained. "2. My page is gone because I'm upset at @defjam for not dropping my damn 'WTP' video on time, per usual. 3. It's really sad that lies are entertained so much than the truth. 4. Iman is not dumb he know I'd kill him." Alby also confirmed that Iman isn't her baby daddy.
