Instead of detailing his father's death, the radio personality announces in a new interview that he is currently working on a project to honor his late dad, who passed away at the age of 99.

AceShowbiz - Howard Stern's father Ben sadly passed away at the age of 99. Confirming the devastating news was the radio personality in an interview with Hamptons local outlet Dan's Papers.
"I lost my father recently, he was 99 years old," Howard told the outlet. Instead of detailing his father's death, the 68-year-old announced that he is currently working on a project to honor his late dad.
"Next up: Corwith Barns," he explained of his project. "I've done a bunch of smaller paintings of the barns but this one is a larger size. The barns are no longer there but I photographed them many times, and I'm doing a big painting that hopefully captures every broken board on that fading structure."
"Not sure how old those barns were, but I feel like painting the barns is honoring him and all those growing older and then gone," the comedian/author further elaborated.
After Howard announced the news, fans and friends offered their condolences on social media. "R.I.P. Ben Stern. My condolences to Howard, @BethStern, Ray, & the entire Stern family. Ben was a damn nice guy, & I'm deeply sorry for your loss. #BenStern," John Melendez, who formerly appeared as "Stuttering John" on "The Howard Stern Show", wrote on Twitter.
Howard often spoke about his parents, including his mom Ray Stern. In his 2019 book called "Howard Stern Comes Again", he said his mother was one of his favorite guests on his show.
Meanwhile, Howard once introuced his father Ben on "America's Got Talent". He told one of the performers, "My dad is in the audience and he would sit you down - I'm speaking for my father now - he would sit you down and say to you, 'Look, you're my son, but you're a nudnik.' Do you know what a nudnik is?"
When the camera panned to Ben, Howard told him, "Dad, tell the guy - tell him he's got to get a real job." In response, Ben said, "Well, look, I look at things, and after completely analyzing it, that was the answer."
He later joined the performer on stage before recounting what he used to tell his son as a child. "Don't be stupid, you moron," he stated.
