The New Jersey rapper is back behind bars after federal prosecutors caught him threatening to kill a man who called him 'a rat' during a video call, in which he's said to have waved a gun.

AceShowbiz - Fetty Wap is facing another legal trouble. The "Trap Queen" rhymer has been arrested for sending death threats during a wild FaceTime video call with a man who called him "a rat."
According to federal prosecutors, the 31-year-old hip-hop artist was booked on Monday, August 8 in New Jersey, per TMZ. The arrest was in connection to the "KEKE" spitter violating the conditions of his pretrial release.
In documents from the U.S. Attorney's Offices of the Eastern District of New York, Fetty, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, has been accused of waving a gun at someone during a FaceTime call and threatening the person's life. During a December 2021 FaceTime call between Fetty and a man, only identified as "John Doe," the rapper possessed a gun and allegedly threatened to kill the person.
"Imma kill you and everybody you with," Fetty said, according to the court documents. The Paterson native then repeatedly told the man throughout the call, "I'm gonna kill you."
"This was a direct violation of both state law and the condition of his release," an FBI agent explained. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued for the embattled artist, who had been out on a $500,000 personal recognizance bond on charges he allegedly worked with a crew of five other people to traffic more than 100 kilograms of drugs.
Fetty's attorney, Elizabeth Macedonio, said her client was entrapped on the phone call by someone who had, days earlier, posted a photo of his dead 4-year-old daughter. "I'm happy she's dead because her father is a rat," the person who the rapper allegedly threatened wrote alongside the said image.
"He was very manipulative in trying to get a rise out of Mr. Maxwell, to agitate him in a way no parent would have to face…the death of one's 4-year-old daughter is something no one should use as a ploy," Elizabeth told Judge Steven. The judge said he was sympathetic to anyone who lost a child, but ordered the rapper detained because he was "clearly deploying a gun to threaten to kill someone."
A Public Information Officer at the U.S. Attorney's Office stated that Magistrate Judge Steven Locke revoked Fetty's bond during a bail revocation hearing on Monday in Central Islip federal court in Long Island. Fetty is currently in jail pending trial.
