The Baton Rouge rapper gets checked by a political commentator after he accused the VP of not helping out the WNBA star, who was handed a nine-year prison sentence in a Russian court over drug smuggling.

AceShowbiz - Boosie Badazz (Lil Boosie) seemingly called out the wrong person while ranting about Brittney Griner's legal woes. The Baton Rouge rapper got checked by a political commentator after he called out Vice President Kamala Harris for not helping out the WNBA star, who was handed a nine-year prison sentence in a Russian court over drug smuggling.

Boosie was among celebrities who spoke out against the decision. "How the hell this girl get nine years for a weed pen? And the U.S.A. ain't doing nothing about it," Boosie fumed in an Instagram video. "You tell me that! If that was Taylor Swift, there'd be a peace treaty right now. They'd be drafting to go to war. For a weed pen! Nine years!"

He then name-dropped Kamala, saying, "What that show for black women in the United States? And the Vice President, as a black woman, you supposed to be on the frontline to get that black woman out of jail! Nine damn years. Y'all f**ked up in this world!"

Reecie Colbert, founder of BlackWomenViews Media, caught wind of the rapper's rant. In her own Twitter tirade on Thursday, August 4, she labeled the hip-hop star "ignorant" for not doing fact-checking before the public rant.

"@BOOSIEOFFICIAL Since apparently you are new to the #BritneyGriner case, VP #KamalaHarris actually IS helping her," Reecie wrote on the blue bird app. "How TF you blame VP and not the whole a** Russian President holding her political prisoner is asinine. The admin is trying to make a deal so go after Putin not VP."

In a separate post, she went on to note, "PS- [Donald Trump] didn't get A$AP Rocky out of jail in Sweden. He was still denied bail, convicted & sentenced to time served. ASAP said 45 made it worse. 45 didn't get the UCLA players out of China, it was mainly Jack Ma. Trump believes #BrittneyGriner deserves jail. #Receipts."

Earlier this week, a Russian judge gave Brittney a nine-year prison sentence after being found guilty of drug smuggling. Brittney, who was arrested in February after authorities discovered vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her luggage at a Moscow airport, said during her speech, "That's why I pled guilty to my charges. I understand everything that's been said against me, the charges that are against me and that is why I pled guilty but I had no intent to break any Russian laws." The Phoenix Mercury star was also said to have been fined the equivalent of $16,600 for the offense.

Her jail sentence sparked outrage with several Hollywood stars taking to their social media accounts to blast the decision. Justin Bieber wrote on Instagram Story, "THIS HURTS. If anyone knows of anyway I can help please let me know." Also reacting to the news was Jada Pinkett Smith, who said, "On the same day where we finally got some Justice for Breonna …I find out that Brittney Griner just got 9 years in Russia. #freebrittney."

Meanwhile, 50 Cent called the situation "wild." The "In Da Club" hitmaker added, "you don't ever want to get caught up in the politics, They are gonna tell her like 10 years for a vape pin watch." As for Sherri Shepherd, she tweeted, "My heart breaks for Brittney Griner, her wife & her family! I need America to do all that it can to get this woman home immediately! End this nightmare! Free Brittney Griner! #BrittneyGriner."
