Prior to their reunion, the 'drivers license' hitmaker and the 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' actor are said to have been involved in a love triangle drama with Sabrina Carpenter.

AceShowbiz - Olivia Rodrigo proved that she has no problem attending a red carpet event alongside her former boyfriend. During her appearance at the season 3 premiere of "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series", the "good 4 u" singer was spotted striking poses together with her ex Joshua Bassett.

On Wednesday evening, July 27, the 19-year-old star could be seen reuniting with her ex-boyfriend on the red carpet. She was seen dressed in cutout black dress that she paired with tights and chunky heels. In addition to a black choker, she completed her edgy look with a red lipstick and let her wavy long hair free.

Joshua, in the meantime, opted for a cropped black satin tuxedo, a pair of black trousers and a pair of black shoes. The 21-year-old actor also donned a black tank-top under his jacket and hung a single chain around his neck. He and his Grammy Award winner ex looked equally stunning in their matching black getup.

Olivia and Joshua could be seen posing next to each other while flashing a beaming smile at the camera. In the photos, Joshua had one of his arms wrapped around his former girlfriend's waist as she leaned into him whilst striking several gorgeous poses. In another casual shot, they could be seen flashing peace signs together and sticking out their tongues.

The former couple was reported to have dated each other during the first two seasons of the musical show, which premiered on Disney+ in 2019. Although they never publicly give any confirmation or denial on their relationship status, the two allegedly fell out of love and split after the filming of the show's second season.

Olivia's devoted fans have long speculated that Joshua was the singer's inspiration of her hit single, "drivers license", which brought her to fame in 2021. The ballad tune reportedly touched on the love triangle drama between Olivia, Joshua and "Girl Meets World" star Sabrina Carpenter.

In a December 2021 interview with GQ, Joshua revealed that Olivia had not "spoken to" him following her "drivers license" debut. He also admitted that he has been facing backlash from Olivia's fans online since many assumed he was the inspiration behind the breakup song.

"I would see TikToks with like 50 million views and 10 million likes saying, 'If I ever see that kid on the street, I'm going to f**king kill him.' It's hard to see that and then be living in New York and walking down the street," the "Lie Lie Lie" singer shared in the interview.
