The 'Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta' alum's latest release 'Scooch' reaches the summit of RnB radio in addition to arriving atop Billboard's Adult RnB Airplay chart.

AceShowbiz - K. Michelle has a lot to celebrate this summer. The 40-year-old musician saw her name on the summit of R&B radio with her latest single "Scooch", marking her first chart-topper on this radio format. Her previous best was "The Rain", which was in the Top 10.

K. Michelle made her first entry on the R&B radio with "V.S.O.P." from her debut album, "Rebellious Soul". Co-written by Priscilla Renea a.k.a. Muni Long, the tune only reached the Top 20.

"Scooch", which is the first single from K. Michelle's forthcoming album "I'm the Problem", hit streaming services back in February. However, it was not until July 23 that the Lil' Ronnie-produced track landed at the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart. It beat Silk Sonic's remake of Con Funk Shun's "Love's Train".

Speaking about her new achievement, the "Can't Raise a Man" songstress told Billboard via email, "As an artist, there’s nothing better than reaching No. 1. I'm over the moon grateful." She went on to note, "I've worked very hard in my career, and I've tried to make music for the hearts and not the charts, but being acknowledged by radio and my fans in this way is something I'll always be proud of."

More than a month after releasing "Scooch", the former "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star unleashed its official music video. The clip, which shows the mini version of K. Michelle singing with two dancers, has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.

K. Michelle has yet to reveal the release date of her sixth studio record, "I'm The Problem". It is expected to be her final R&B album following her 2020 project,"All Monsters Are Human", which debuted and peaked at number 51 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
