AceShowbiz - Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne have celebrated 40 years of marriage. Having been married to the former co-host of "The Talk" since 1972, the 73-year-old rock legend took to Instagram on Monday, July 4 to pay tribute to his wife as he marked the milestone anniversary.

The Black Sabbath frontman wrote alongside a throwback pic from their wedding day, "40 Years Ago Today! Happy Anniversary My Love! (sic)" His TV personality wife also shared her own post in which she noted that the two of them will "always be at each other's side."

"2022 is a special year for me. It marks 40 years of marriage to my darling Ozzy," Sharon wrote. "We first met when I was 18, over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husband wife, grandparents and soulmates. Always at each other's side. I love you Ozzy - Sharrrrrrron x ."(sic)

The happy posts came just weeks after Sharon, who shot to fame herself when she and her husband started up "The Osbournes" reality show back in 2002 before going on to become known as a judge on "The X Factor", revealed that she was taking a break from her British show "The Talk" to be with her husband in Los Angeles as he recovered from an operation.

"He has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there," the 69-year-old former talent manager said. "It's really going to determine the rest of his life." At the time, a source close to the couple claimed that despite his health struggles, Ozzy wanted to "treat Sharon to something special" for their Ruby anniversary.

A friend of the couple said, "Ozzy may have been waiting on getting his neck and back sorted after extended leg pain, which has left him unable to walk for long periods. But while that has been his hope, he always wants to treat Sharon to something special for their 40th."

Together, Ozzy and Sharon has 38-year-old Aimee Osbourne, who goes by the stage name of Aro, as well as 37-year-old Kelly Osbourne and 36-year-old Jack Osbourne.
