In a new interview, the 39-year-old 'Basketball Wives L.A.' star recalled how the 'Bodak Yellow' raptress hired her after she was harshly picked on by her former co-stars.

AceShowbiz - Angel Brinks is grateful to Cardi B for giving her a chance to prove herself as a fashion designer. In a new interview, the "Basketball Wives L.A." star recalled how the raptress hired her after she was harshly picked on by her former co-stars.

Angel told Page Six that the "Bodak Yellow" raptress had her come out to Las Vegas to style her for her first performance at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. "I had so much fun with her," the 39-year-old, who appeared on season 4 of "Basketball Wives L.A.", explained.

"She knew at the time what happened with me on the show being bullied and attacked," the 39-year-old shared. "She was telling me, 'Girl, I hated watching that happening to you on TV. You deserve so much more respect.' "

Angel was bullied by her fellow castmates since they couldn't take her seriously as a businesswoman and fashion designer. Despite that, Cardi, who was also a cast member of another VH1 show "Love & Hip Hop", decided to wear a custom sparkling outfit by Brinks for her performance at the VMAs. She also wore Angel's dress for her appearance at the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Connor McGregor fight.

"I will always remember that," Angel shared. "It was her first very big performance and she came to me. So I just feel very blessed."

In addition to Cardi B, Heidi Klum, Missy Elliott, Lil' Kim, Doja Cat, Saweetie and Megan Thee Stallion among others also dressed in Angel's ensembles.

Angel found fame when she was in romantic relationship with 2009 first-round NBA draft pick Tyreke Evans, which is how she ended up on the show. The pair shared daughter Amina Evans, in 2014, but eventually went their separate ways a year later.

In addition to Amina, the reality TV star has a son from a previous marriage. She is currently dating music producer Roccstar.

"Basketball Wives" airs on Mondays at 8 P.M. ET on VH1.
