The record producer and beatmaker has filed for a dissolution of marriage in the Los Angeles County Courts only one year after he married the mother of his three children.

AceShowbiz - DJ Mustard is about to be single again. The musician has filed for divorce from his wife Chanel Thierry after less than two years of marriage and Chanel is understandably devastated now. She has broken her silence after news broke of their split.

"Thank you for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers," Chanel wrote on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 3, confirming the divorce reports. "Anyone that followed me or knows me personally knows my family means the world to me," she added. "I've [dedicated] 12 loyal years and it is more [than] heartbreaking to see things end."

According to multiple reports, Mustard filed for a dissolution of marriage in the Los Angeles County Courts on Monday, May 2 in the Los Angeles County Courts. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

Interestingly, in the filing, the super successful producer, whose real name is Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, states that the date of separation was May 2, the same day he filed the divorce papers. He is asking a judge to order joint legal and physical custody of their three kids, whose ages range from 2 to 10.

Mustard says they entered into a pre-marital agreement and the property and cash should be divided accordingly. He is asking that his "jewelry and other personal effects" be ordered his sole and separate property, along with "earning and accumulations...before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation," according to The Blast.

Mustard and Chanel had been together for years, as he started dating the model when he was 19 years old, before they got engaged in 2018. He reportedly proposed to her with a half a million dollar engagement ring. They tied the knot in October 2020 at a big wedding which was attended by some big music stars such as Ella Mai, Bow Wow and Joie Chavis.

Chanel is the founder Sleepova, a pajama and loungewear company, and is active on YouTube. Hours before the split news broke, she posted photos on Instagram that saw her still wearing her wedding ring. "Lost files from Ayla's Harry Potter bday! Auntie dressed up and everything it's giving MiuMiu student," she captioned the snaps.
