The 'Heart on Fire' crooner previously angered his fans with his 'selfish' decision, prompting one person to declare on Twitter, 'I will not support him anymore.'

AceShowbiz - Eric Church is trying to make amends. After canceling an April 2 tour date to attend the NCAA Final Four tournament, the "Heart on Fire" crooner announced on social media that he will do a "free show" in Texas later this year.

"Thank you San Antonio for letting me take my family to this game," the 44-year-old penned in a post shared on Twitter and Instagram on Friday, April 1. "It took a minute to figure out how and when I could properly express my thanks.

"I will be coming to Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, TX on Friday, September 2, 2022 for a ONE of a kind FREE show for those of you who bought tickets and were planning to attend our cancelled San Antonio show."

Eric was supposed to perform at the AT&T Center on Saturday. However, he canceled the show because he wanted to watch the University of North Carolina men's basketball team face off against rival Duke University. He notified ticket-holders about the cancellation through a letter, which was distributed by Ticketmaster.

"To the Church Choir. This Saturday, my family and I are going to stand together to cheer on the Tar Heels as the team has made it to the Final Four," so read the message, according to Variety. "As a lifelong Carolina basketball fan, I've watched Carolina and Duke battle over the years but to have them matchup [sic] in the Final Four for the first time in the history of the NCAA Tournament is any sports enthusiast's dream."

"This is also the most selfish thing I've ever asked the Choir to do: to give up your Saturday night plans with us so that I can have this moment with my family and sports community," he admitted. "It's that same type of passion felt by the people who fill the seats at our concerts that makes us want to be part of a crowd at a game of this significance."

"Woody Durham always said, 'Go where you go and do what you do,' thanks for letting me go here and be with the Tar Heels," it concluded.

Unsurprisingly, Eric's decision made fans furious. One person in particular fumed on Twitter, "I was a huge eric church fan until this moment. I will not support him anymore. Not only is this incredibly rude to his fan it's also disgustingly rude to the venue employees who just had several of their working hours taken away with little notice. Be better man."

"Eric Church is throwing words like 'family' into his BS excuse for canceling a concert thousands of peopme were looking forward to.....for an important basketball game. Dude thinks a lot of himself for someone who sh**s on his fans," another argued. A third opined, "If Eric Church really believed in the Tar Heels, he would have never scheduled a show during the Final Four to begin with."
