The former U.S. women's national team star goalkeeper is scheduled for a court hearing on June 28 after being charged with driving while impaired, resisting a public officer and misdemeanor child abuse.

AceShowbiz - Hope Solo has walked out of prison. The former U.S. women's national team star goalkeeper has been released from jail after she was arrested for alleged DWI and child abuse.

The 40-year-old retired soccer player was released from Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center on Friday, April 1. The two-time Olympic gold medalist and World Cup winner is scheduled for a court hearing on June 28.

Hope was taken into police custody after she was found passing out behind the wheel of a vehicle in North Carolina with her 2-year-old twins inside, per TMZ. According to an arrest warrant, a passerby noticed Hope passed out behind the steering wheel for more than an hour with the vehicle's engine running and the two children in the backseat. A responding officer could smell alcohol.

The warrant also stated that Hope refused a field sobriety test. However, her blood was still drawn for further investigation. She was later charged with driving while impaired, resisting a public officer and misdemeanor child abuse.

Rich Nichols, a Texas-based attorney who represents Hope, released a statement via her Instagram account. However, Rich didn't provide details on the charges and said that his client wouldn't respond.

"On the advice of counsel, Hope can't speak about this situation," Rich wrote. The lawyer continued in his statement that Hope "wants everyone to know that her kids are her life, that she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, that the story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges."

This wasn't the first time Hope had a run-in with the law. Back in 2014, Hope was arrested for domestic violence. She was charged with two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault for allegedly striking her half-sister and then 17-year-old nephew. The charges were dismissed eight months later before being reinstated in October 2015. The charges were then officially dropped in May 2018.

In January 2015, Hope was also suspended for 30 days by U.S. soccer after her husband, former NFL player Jerramy Stevens, was taken into police custody for DUI. At the time, Jerramy drove a U.S. soccer van with Hope in it.
