AceShowbiz - Rachel Lindsay has mourned over Cheslie Kryst's tragic passing. The former leading lady on "The Bachelorette" burst into tears when remembering her friend and the late former Miss USA in a special tribute episode of ExtraTV.

In the Monday, January 31 episode of the news show, the 36-year-old TV personality couldn't hold back tears when asked about her fellow Extra presenter, who took her own life at the age of 30. "I think the word that I feel is very unsettled," she tearfully told host Billy Bush.

"And as I got to know her, outside of what you see, I just couldn't get over just how she was always there for you. And then it just makes you think, 'Were you there enough for her?' " Rachel continued. The former reality star also noted how Cheslie "was inspiring to [her], I respected her."

Rachel then recalled one of their final interactions together. "She and I went to dinner and we talked for hours about everything," she shared. "My book was just being finished, she was still working on her book, and we talked about that. We talked about different struggles, we talked about being the strong Black woman."

Rachel went on saying, "And it's like, [those] conversations, I think, 'Should I have pushed and asked her a little bit more when it came to that?' " She added, "The sky was the limit for her and I can't believe she's gone."

Cheslie took her own life by jumping from a 60-floor building at 350 W. 42nd Street in New York City around 7:15 A.M. local time. Cheslie, who was a lawyer, reportedly lived on the ninth floor of the building and was last seen on a 29th-floor terrace.

Just hours before her death, Cheslie, who was crowned Miss USA as Miss North Carolina in May 2019, shared an alarming post on her Instagram account. Along with a stunning portrait of her, she captioned her post, "May this day bring you rest and peace," adding a red heart emoji.

Cheslie's family also confirmed her death in a statement that read, "In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie." The note went on to praise the late beauty catwalk, "Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined."

"Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA," Cheslie's family added. "But most importantly as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague -- we know her impact will live on." Her family also asked for privacy in wake of the late beauty queen's death.
