AceShowbiz - Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are putting their kids first. The former star of "BH90210" and her husband are reportedly "attempting" to work things out to save their marriage as they are in "tough space."
"Tori and Dean are still going through a rough patch and a tough space. It's been difficult for them," a source told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, January 19. The so-called inside source went on saying, "Things aren't great between them, but they are still attempting to work things out for the sake of their kids," referring to the couple's young children, 14-year-old Liam, 13-year-old Stella, 10-year-old Hattie, 9-year-old Finn and 4-year-old Beau.
The news on their relationship status arrived just weeks after Tori spent New Year's Eve without Dean. The 48-year-old actress vacationed in snowy Lake Arrowhead, California, posting several photos of the trip, from which Dean was noticeably absent.
At the time, Dean took to Instagram to set the record straight that he was "sick as a dog" with pneumonia. "Happy New year Everyone!!! I'm down but not out!! Pneumonia sucks, but I'm not going to let it dampen my spirits!!" the "Dead Again in Tombstone" actor captioned the clip, before concluding his post, "I hope your 2022 is full of love, light and prosperity. Much love to you all."
A few days after, Tori unveiled that her family tested positive for COVID-19, including Dean. When revealing her diagnosis on January 7, she felt "useless" as a parent. "Nothing is worse than wanting to care for your little ones but feeling so sick you can barely function yourself," she expressed her frustration. The "True Tori" star continued, "Devastated. A mom is supposed to take care of their kiddos when sick. That's how it works."
Then on January 8, Dean candidly shared that he feared he would need to be placed on a ventilator. "This is the first place I'm going once I get over COVID!! I've got to be honest, this scared the s**t out of me. My breathing was so compromised I thought I was going to be put on a ventilator," so he wrote in an Instagram post.
After eight days of being isolated at home with her kids, Tori offered her fans an update on her condition. Taking to her Instagram Story, the 48-year-old actress shared a makeup-free selfie with a caption that read, "Day 8… when does this get better?!?" adding a face with face mask emoji.
