In a new interview with Hot 97, the 'DS4Ever' artist also opens up whether he wants to take his 'fashion brand to the levels of what [Kanye West] did with Yeezy.'

AceShowbiz - Gunna could not thank Rihanna enough for recreating his New York Fashion Week look for the 2021 Halloween. When speaking about the major moment, the "DS4Ever" artist gushed over the "RiRi effect."

"That day, I got so many calls - oh this that RiRi effect. That RiRi effect different," the emcee said in a new interview with Hot 97. "Okay Rocky, I see what's happening. I see what's happening Rocky, ok say less."

The YSL Records artist, born Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, admitted that he chose the outfit for NYFW because he wanted to "stand out." He explained, "I just want to really really put it on [because] it's fashion week... We're like... the most stuff that's going to stand out because you got big fashionistas just out here like they ain't gonnna play."

Rihanna gave fans a look at her Halloween outfit back on October 31, 2021. She first shared on Instagram a black-and-white picture of tall Rick Owens boots. Alongside the snap, she wrote, "the Gunna'z. @gunna."

The "Umbrella" hitmaker then followed it up with some images of her reenacting Gunna's poses. In the snaps, she could be seen wearing a black, sheer Dior shirt paired with a black vest, shorts, the boots, diamond necklaces and dark sunglasses. "D . S . 4," she penned in the caption, imitating Gunna's in his original post.

Catching wind of Rihanna's posts, Gunna rushed to the comment section and exclaimed, "Nawww U OVERLY WON." He continued to celebrate his achievement by reposting the singer's photos on his own Instagram Stories, calling her "OD." The hip-hop star also used one of the pictures as his Instagram profile picture at the time.

During the interview with Hot 97, Gunna was asked whether he wants to take his "fashion brand to the levels of what [Kanye West] did with Yeezy." In response, he noted, "That's the ultimate goal to have my own brand in the clothing in the fashion industry… I don't know, because you can't just stop music. You can't just do music and both, so... I don't know [if I can balance it out]."
