It has been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex send their well-wishes in some 'private' moments with the Duchess of Cambridge on the special day.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made sure to send well-wishes for sister-in-law Kate Middleton on her 40th birthday. Despite the alleged family rift, it has been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent some "private" moments with Kate on the special day.

Royal expert Christopher Andersen spilled to Us Weekly on Tuesday, January 11 that "they did a video call." He continued, "They wished her a happy birthday. [It was] very private."

"Harry and Megan were not about to post anything the way they did two years ago," Christopher noted. The "Brothers and Wives: inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan" author went on to elaborate that while Harry and Meghan publicly displayed "their affection" for Kate on her 38th birthday in 2020, things have since changed between the couple and the rest of the royal family.

"This time everything was kept private," Christopher added.

Kate Middleton celebrated her 40th birthday on Sunday, January 9. The wife of Prince William allegedly enjoyed a "small family affair" at her and her husband's Anmer Hall estate with family and friends.

Of the Duchess of Sussex, Christopher said, "Kate only has a very small circle of friends." He also shared that she has an "interesting" tradition of baking her own cake which was a "holdover" from her mother and founder of Party Pieces, Carole Middleton.

As for why Kate chose to have a "very low-key" party, Christopher explained that it was because there will be a lot of "big bashes" coming up for the royals this year. Prince William is set to celebrate his 39th birthday in a joint celebration which is planned by Queen Elizabeth II.

"The queen has a big thing planned for [William] and he is going to throw something as well," Christopher divulged. "So, there will be big parties again, if COVID allows anything like that to happen."
