Strong, meanwhile, grabbed the coveted Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for playing Kendall Roy on "Succession". He defeated his own co-star Brian Cox as well as "Squid Game" star Lee Jung-jae, Billy Porter ("Pose") and Omar Sy ("Lupin") for the prize.

Another big category which has been announced at the currently ongoing ceremony was Best Motion Picture - Animated and the winner went to "Encanto". The movie won over "Flee", "Luca", "My Sunny Maad" and "Raya and the Last Dragon".

Unlike the previous years, this year's Golden Globe Awards is held private and is neither broadcast nor live-streamed. Only select HFPA members and philanthropy grantees were invited to watch the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, while winners will be announced through real-time updates on the Golden Globes websites and social media accounts.
