The official sneak-peek of the upcoming Marvel movie also teases a reunion with a fellow Avenger and gives first look at some creatures that Benedict Cumberbatch's titular character will fight against in the film.

AceShowbiz - Marvel is filling in the gap between its two superhero movie sequels with an official sneak peek. Following the release of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" in theaters, the studio has unveiled the first teaser trailer of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness".
Following the events of "WandaVision", "Loki" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home", the Multiverse culminates in the "Doctor Strange" sequel. The teaser includes footage that hints at the presence of alternate dimensions as Wong (Benedict Wong) warns the titular character (Benedict Cumberbatch) in voiceover of the repercussion of a certain spell.
"It was the only way," Strange seems to make an excuse as he is seen walking up the stairs of an abandoned Sanctum Sanctorum. "But I never meant for any of this to happen," he adds. There's a glimpse of Strange attending the wedding of Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), before he reaches out to Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) for help to deal with the Multiverse.
The teaser also shows the return of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, who tells Strange that "the greatest threat to our universe is you." Strange is then seen fighting against a giant eye monster and there's a glimpse of Rintrah, a bull/human hybrid with horns, before he comes face to face with an evil version of himself. "Things just got out of hand," says the evil Strange at the end of the video.
Sam Raimi serves behind the lens for "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", which also stars Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, who has the power to punch holes into different realities. Scripted by Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron, it will head into theaters across the nation on May 6, 2022.
"They're very good at exceeding expectations, when expectations are low. I think it's always harder to exceed them when they're high," Cumberbatch recently told Esquire about Marvel superhero sequels. "I'm not saying they make them low. 'We're going to do 'Ant-Man'!' It's just the way they make these things work."
