AceShowbiz - Chris Noth faced the aftermath of sexual assault allegations leveled at him. The actor was fired from CBS drama "The Equalizer" after he was accused of sexual assault.
The network and Universal Television announced the firing in a brief statement on Monday, December 20. "Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately," read the joint statement.
The actor, who plays William Bishop on the series, will still be seen in one upcoming episode that has already been filmed. The "Sex and the City" star will also be featured in repeats of episodes that have already aired.
Several women came forward with sexual assault allegations against Chris. In an article published by The Hollywood Reporter, one of the woman said she was assaulted at his apartment in West Hollywood in 2004 and the other at his Greenwich Village home in 2015.
Additionally, actress Zoe Lister-Jones claimed that Chris was being "drunk" and "sexually inappropriate" while on the set of "Law & Order", calling him a "predator" in an Instagram post. A third woman, meanwhile, accused him of sexually assaulting her in October 2010 when she was 18 years old and working as a hostess and lounge singer at a restaurant in Manhattan.
Chris denied the accusations, insisting that their "sexual encounters" were all consensual. "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false," he said in a statement. "These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago - no always means no - that is a line I did not cross. It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."
