The rapper, who is best known for his 1999 hit 'Wanna Be a Baller', got into the near-deadly accident when he was on his way home from Arkansas on Monday, December 6.

AceShowbiz - Lil' Troy knows he is lucky to be alive. The rapper, who is best known for his 1999 hit "Wanna Be a Baller", said he's grateful that he survived a fiery explosion coming from his 18-wheeler while he's driving on a Texas highway.

The 55-year-old, real name Troy Lane Birklett, took to Instagram on Tuesday, December 7 to share a video of his truck engulfed in flames. "Yesterday I had the scare of my life and the Blessing of my life," he began his caption.

"my truck caught on fire while I was driving on the freeway and I was bless that I was able to get out of traffic and pull over and get out the truck with no nobody getting hurt," the Houston native, who owns Birklett Trucking Company in Missouri City, added. "GOD IS good."

The incident occurred on Monday. At that time, Troy was on his way home from Arkansas when he spotted smoke under the hood. He then decided to pull over on Interstate 10 and get out of his truck before the vehicle burst into flames.

"Right before I got ready to exit, I started to see fire, flames coming up from the hood," he detailed when speaking to ABC 13. "And I'm like, 'Oh, I got to get out of this truck.' You know what I'm saying? It's fire!"

"It took them awhile to put the fire out," he further recalled. "While they were there, it went 'Boom' again! So, I thank God for the fire department. They came and made sure nobody else got injured at the same time."

Troy, who has stepped away from the hip-hop industry, went on to explain that the near-death experience has taught him some lessons. "I started thinking about my family and worrying about how they need me. It's not my time to go right now," he pointed out.
