The 'Pitch Perfect' actress reveals that her management doesn't approve of her weight loss because she is 'earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl.'

AceShowbiz - Rebel Wilson has opened up about how people around her reacted to her decision to lose weight. In a new interview, the "Pitch Perfect" actress revealed that her team didn't want her to lose weight to keep her as a "funny fat girl."

The 41-year-old artist told "BBC Breakfast" on Tuesday, December 7, "I got a lot of pushback from my own team actually, here in Hollywood, when I said, 'OK, I'm going to do this year of health, I feel like I'm really going to physically transform and change my life.' " She added, "And they were like, 'why? Why would you want to do that?' Because I was earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl and being that person."

"Is that what a woman has to do in the world, lose weight to get attention?" Rebel elaborated. The "Bridesmaids" actress then questioned, "It's fascinating, why are people so obsessed with it? Like, with women in particular about their looks?"

Rebel added, "I know what it's like to be a woman who is essentially invisible to most people because of not being seen as traditionally beautiful or whatever." The Penny Rust depicter in "The Hustle" shared her thoughts on losing weight to gain attention, "It's crazy to try to fit that. It's just better to be the healthiest version."

Rebel also confessed that she was never uncomfortable with her weight but then she realized that using food to escape from her emotions wasn't good for her health. "I knew deep down inside that some of the emotional eating behavior's I was doing was not healthy. Like I did not need a tub of ice cream every night," she said.

In November, Rebel revealed she reached her goal weight of 165 lbs. The "Isn't It Romantic" star achieved her milestone by following the Mayr Method diet plan, which cuts sugar and encourages slow eating. She even hit the gym regularly, working out six times a week.
