To mark the 20th anniversary of the franchise's first film, the HBO Max special will reunite the original main cast, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

AceShowbiz - Get ready to be on board the Hogwarts Express again. HBO Max has released the first look teaser of "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" that will reunite the original main cast, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

The teaser doesn't give out anything from the reunion special, but teases the return to the Wizarding World with a glimpse of London King's Cross Station Platform 9¾. It also features some of the actors, Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), receiving invites to the retrospective event.

Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Evanna Lynch and Ian Hart are also set to appear in the reunion special.

"Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" will premiere on HBO Max on New Year's Day, January 1, 2022. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise start with the release of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" film in November 2021, it will "tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new, in-depth interviews and cast conversations."

"It has been an incredible journey since the debut of the 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' film, and witnessing how it has evolved into this remarkable interconnected universe has been magical to say the least," Tom Ascheim, president of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics, said in a statement when announcing the reunion special. "This retrospective is a tribute to everyone whose lives were touched by this cultural phenomenon - from the talented cast and crew who poured their heart and soul into this extraordinary film franchise to the passionate fans who continue to keep the Wizarding World spirit alive 20 years later."

Following the release of the teaser, fans have expressed their excitement on social media. "Goosebumpsss," said one fan, while another called it an "emotional rollercoaster." A third added, "This is the first thing I'm watching in the new year. I've grown up with Harry Potter my whole life; books and movies. Seeing the original cast back at Hogwarts 20 years later will be an emotional rollercoaster."
