Movie

In a new sneak peek of 'Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts', the Hermione Granger depicter remembers the first time her co-star made her heart skip a beat.

AceShowbiz - Emma Watson talks about on-set romance in a new sneak peek of "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts". Ahead of the premiere of the retrospective special, the actress playing Hermione Granger on the wizard film franchise recalls the moment she fell in love with her co-star Tom Felton.

"I walked into the room where we were having tutoring. The assignment that had been given was to draw what you thought God looked like, and Tom had drawn a girl with a backward cap on a skateboard," she says of the moment Tom made her heart skip a beat, according to ET Canada. "And I just don't know how to say it - I just fell in love with him."

She continues remembering, "I used to come in every day and look for his number on the call sheet, it was number seven, and if his name was on the call sheet, it was an extra exciting day." But her feeling was never reciprocated. "He was three years above me and so for him he was like, 'You're like my little sister,' " she shares.

Tom admits he was aware that Emma had a crush on him. "I think I was in the hair and make-up chair and someone said something along the lines of, 'Yeah, she had a crush on you,' " he says.

Though nothing ever happened between them, there's always a strong bond between the two. The British actor says, "I became very protective over her. Yeah, I've always had a soft spot for her and that continues to this day. There's always been something that's like, I don't know, a kinship."

Daniel Radcliffe, meanwhile, talks about growing up in front of screen. "Every part of my life is connected to Potter and to Leavesden... my first kiss is connected to someone here, my first girlfriends were here... it all spirals out from the Potter set somewhere, you know?" he says.

He continues, "Everyone also says things like: 'You grew up on screen', and it's like, well, yes and no. We did our growing up privately still, we just did it on a film set and we did it with each other and that's bizarre."

"Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time. It will premiere on HBO Max on New Year's Day, January 1, 2022.

Rupert Grint, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane, Mark Williams, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch and Ian Hart as well as director David Yates are all set to return for the special.
