Dedicating his Sunday Service to the Louis Vuitton designer, the 'Donda' artist's choir performs an emotional rendition of Adele's single 'Easy On Me' from her chart-topping new album.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has paid a touching tribute to his longtime friend Virgil Abloh at his latest Sunday Service. Dedicating the ceremony to the late Louis Vuitton designer, the "Donda" artist's choir performed a moving rendition of Adele's "Easy On Me".

The performance was live-streamed briefly on dondalive.com, shortly after the 44-year-old musician shared the link on his Instagram Story. In a reworked first verse, the choir sang, "I know your love flows like a river. And I could wash myself in it forever. I know there is hope in these waters. But I can't bring myself to swim. When I am drowning in my sin."

"Go easy on me, father," Ye's choir harmonized on the reworked "Easy on Me" chorus. "I am still your child. And I need a chance to. Feel your love around." There was also a message on the screen that read, "In loving memory of Virgil Abloh, the creative director of Donda."

Virgil, who most recently served as men's artistic director of Louis Vuitton, passed away on Sunday, November 28 after a private two-year battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare, aggressive form of cancer. He was 41 years old.

"He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019," the statement shared on his Instagram page read. It's also explained that Virgil underwent "numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture."

The statement continued, "Through it all, his work ethic, infinite curiosity, and optimism never wavered. Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design." The post added, "He often said, 'Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself,' believing deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations."

Paying tribute to the fashion visionary in a statement, Bernard Arnault, the CEO of Louis Vuitton's parent company LVMH, wrote, "We are all shocked by this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer and a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom." Bernard concluded, "The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow and we are all thinking of his loved ones on the passing of their husband, father, brother, son and friend."

Virgil is survived by his wife, Shannon, and their children, Lowe and Grey, as well as his sister, Edwina, and their parents, Nee and Eunice.
