The Phoebe Halliwell depicter on the 1998 series also claims in a new interview that she quickly reached out to her former co-tar upon learning the latter's cancer diagnosis.

AceShowbiz - Alyssa Milano has given fans an update on her friendship with Shannen Doherty. Despite their past feud on the set of "Charmed", the Phoebe Halliwell depicter on the 1998 series claims that she and her former co-star "are cordial."

"I would say we are cordial," Milano said when speaking to Entertainment Tonight. "You know, I could take responsibility for a lot of our tension that we had. I think a lot of our struggle came from feeling that I was in competition rather than it being that sisterhood that the show was so much about. And I have some guilt about my part in that."

Milano added that she quickly reached out to Doherty upon learning the latter's cancer diagnosis. "I will send her DMs every couple of months to just check in," the 48-year-old shared.

"I have respect for her," the "Sorry Not Sorry" author further gushed about her pal. "Great actress, loves her family so much, and I just wish I could've felt strong enough in who I was to recognize that back then."

Doherty left "Charmed" after season three. About the reason why she exited the show, Doherty told ET in 2001 that there was "too much drama on the set and not enough passion for the work. She added, "You know, I'm 30 years old and I don't have time for drama in my life anymore."

Milano then addressed Doherty's departure in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I think it's hard when you put two very different people together. I'm very laid-back and passive. I have my Buddha. I come in here and meditate. [Doherty's] got a lot of energy, she's very headstrong, she wants to get the job done."

Doherty also addressed the rumored feud in 2015, saying, "we were all friends and at times we weren't." She continued, "Were there times that were rough?... Yeah, when you work that closely together there's always going to be times that are rough."
