'The Voice' Recap: Ed Sheeran Introduced as Mega Mentor in First Night of Knockouts

The Knockouts kicks off with two powerhouses from Team Blake Shelton as Jonathan sings 'I Can See Clearly Now' by Johnny Nash, while Wendy performs Aretha Franklin's 'Ain't No Way'.

AceShowbiz - Knockout Rounds began in the Monday, October 25 episode of "The Voice" season 21. In the episode, Ed Sheeran, prior to his COVID diagnosis, was also introduced as the current season's mega mentor. He would help each of the four coaches', Blake Shelton, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande, teams.

The Knockouts kicked off with two powerhouses from Team Blake. Performing first, Jonathan opted to sing "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash and Kelly was clearly loving the perfomance. Meanwhile, Wendy followed it up with a performance of "Ain't No Way" by Aretha Franklin which earned her a standing ovation from the coaches. Blake chose Wendy as the winner.

The next Knockout was between Team Ariana's Raquel and Katie Rae. Katie Rae was up first, singing "Hold on to Me" by Lauren Daigle. As for Raquel, she hit the stage to belt out "Valerie" by The Zutons and she perfectly showcased her voice and energy through her performance. After much consideration, Ariana picked Raquel as the winner of the Knockout.

Later, it was Gymani and Kinsey Rose from Team Kelly to battle out. For their Knockout, Gymani sang Zayn Malik's "Pillowtalk" and it got John on his feet while yelling, "Sing Gymani!" Kinsey Rose hoped to stay on the competition by performing "Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter that she dedicated to her late grandfather. Gymani was eventually named as the winner of the Knockout.

Following it up were Team John's Sabrina and Joshua. Joshua performed first, singing "Falling" by Harry Styles, and it was such a captivating performance. Sabrina then hit the stage to sing Ed's "Photograph" in an acoustic performance. They were all solid, but John decided to keep Joshua in his team.

Libianca and Hailey from Team Blake performed next. Hailey sang Blake's "God's Country" and flaunted her unique voice. Going up against Hailey, Libianca belted out "everything i wanted" by Billie Eilish. Both singers delivered amazing performances, but Blake eventually chose Libianca as the winner of the Knockout.

Rounding out the night were Girl Named Tom and Holly from Team Kelly. Holly opted to perform "Superstar" by Delaney & Bonnie and she proved that she had such impressive control over her voice. As for Girl Named Tom, the group sang "Wichita Lineman" by Glen Campbell. It was a mesmerizing performance and Kelly announced Girl Named Tom as the winner of the Knockout.
