Presenting the proclamation plaque to the 'MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name)' hitmaker is mayoral candidate Antonio Brown, who is also a part of LGBTQ+ community.

AceShowbiz - Lil Nas X couldn't hide his excitement over his latest achievement. Having been honored with his own special day in Atlanta, the "MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name)" singer gushed, "This is incredible."

After declaring October 20 as "Lil Nas X Day", the Atlanta City Council officials presented the honor to the 22-year-old at The Gathering Spot. "Well, this is my name. Everybody else be quiet," he first quipped during his speech, before adding, "Thank you all for being here. This is incredible."

"I'm not gonna cry. Shout out to Atlanta. I know a lot of you probably didn't know I'm from Atlanta... I'm from the A. But seriously, this is amazing," the Grammy-winning artist continued exclaiming. "I would not have imagined I would be here four years ago when I was like at my sister's house, like on the floor."

Prior to that, mayoral candidate Antonio Brown gave Nas X the proclamation plaque. "He has made a considerable impact on the LGBTQ community by reshaping how society accepts LGBTQ artists within the music industry, and empowering others to break barriers and be more open, expressive, and personal through music and art," Brown said.

"And Lil Nas X, I just wanna say you inspire me. I'm running to be the mayor of Atlanta. I would be the first LGBTQ mayor in the history of the city," Brown explained further. "And you inspire me, allow me to believe I can do it. So thank you."

This arrived just days after Nas X landed his third Billboard Hot 100 number one with his song "Industry Baby" featuring Jack Harlow. It follows his previous hits like "Old Town Road" as well as "MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name)".

To celebrate the accomplishment, Nas X wrote on Instagram, "wow! here were are, 3 number 1 songs! when i was writing 'industry baby' i hadn't released any new music in over a year. It became my manifestation song, because i knew that no matter what people thought would happen to me (post 2019), i would have an amazing 2021!" He added, " 'industry baby' is my fight song, my motivation song, my 'i'll show you' song, and much more!"
