AceShowbiz - Scott Disick apparently needs more time and space to process Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's engagement. It's reported that the "Flip It Like Disick" alum "is distancing himself" from his ex's family to "make his peace" with the engagement news.

Revealing the news was PEOPLE. A source told the outlet that "distancing himself from the family" is a way for the 38-year-old to achieve his peace. "It's not about them, it's not about Kourtney. It's about him needing some time to process this and deal with it on his own, without them. He'll come around soon," the source added.

"Scott hasn't really wanted to deal with Travis and Kourtney because he didn't feel like he'd have to," the insider shared. "At first, it seemed like it was just a casual relationship to him, nothing serious. So he pretty much put that on mute. Hasn't been giving it too much brainpower, thinking that eventually, they'd break up."

"But that didn't happen and now he's being forced to deal with it, which is uncomfortable. He knows he has to lean into the discomfort and get past it," the insider further explained. "He understands that it's not Kourtney's job or Travis's job to make him okay with this. It's his job, and if he's going to co-parent with Kourtney, which he has been, he has to process this and make his peace with it."

Prior to this, Scott was reportedly "losing his s**t" over Kourtney's engagement to Travis. A source additionally told HollywoodLife.com, "He feels like he deserved some sort of warning that this was coming, but he really didn't... This is what Kourtney has wanted her whole life and it is what Scott refused to give her. Now he has to deal with the consequences of his actions, or lack thereof, forever."

Kourtney got engaged to Travis on Sunday, October 17 after he proposed to her at Rosewood Miramar Hotel in Montecito, California. When sharing the happy news, the Poosh founder shared two snaps from the special day on Instagram and captioned the post, "forever @travisbarker."

On Wednesday, the former "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star unleashed more pictures from the proposal on Instagram. In one of the snaps, the lovebirds could be seen smiling ear-to-ear as they embraced each other after she said "yes."

Another image, meanwhile, saw Kourtney kissing her new fiance as he got down on his knee. In the accompaniment of the post, the mother of three gushed, "I woke up all night thinking it was a dream."
