Confirming the signing back of the 'American Gods' actor, director Chad Stahelski praises him as 'an indispensable collaborator who has helped define the world of John Wick.'

AceShowbiz - Ian McShane has signed on to reprise his role as Winston in the fourth "John Wick" movie.

The Brit has played the character in all three of the previous films, and now director Chad Stahelski has confirmed he's on board for the latest instalment, "John Wick: Chapter 4".

"I couldn't be happier than to welcome Ian McShane back to 'John Wick: Chapter 4'," the filmmaker tells Deadline sources. "He is not only an amazing actor but is an indispensable collaborator who has helped define the world of John Wick."

McShane joins the previously announced cast of Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, and Lance Reddick. The movie is shooting in France, Germany, and Japan this summer (2021).

Back in May, Stahelski talked about Wick's future after the conclusion of "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum". Speaking to IndieWire, he pointed out, "John may survive all this s**t, but at the end of it, there's no happy ending. He's got nowhere to go."

"Honestly, I challenge you right now, here's a question to you: How do you f**king want me to end it? Do you think he's going to ride off into the f**king sunset?" the filmmaker continued. "He's killed 300 f**king people and he's just going to [walk away], everything's okay? He's just going to fall in love with a love interest?"

Stahelski further added, "If you're this f**king guy, if this guy really exist[ed], how is this guy's day going to end? He's f**ked for the rest of his life. It's just a matter of time."
