The Dutch actress, who played the telepathic mutant Jean Grey / Phoenix in five X-Men movies between 2000 and 2014, remains open to reprising her role as Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite her character's previous deaths.

AceShowbiz - Famke Janssen doesn't rule out her return in new Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The actress, who played the telepathic mutant Jean Grey / Phoenix in five X-Men movies, said she isn't sure whether she will pop up in "Deadpool & Wolverine".

"I don't know. I mean, I didn't expect to come back after dying as Jean Grey," the 59-year-old told ComicBook. "I came back as the Phoenix [in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand], and I came back in flashback scenes in The Wolverine, and then in Days of Future Past."

When asked about a possible appearance in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, Famke replied, "I don't know." She went on to note, "I doubt it, but you never know."

Famke first appeared as Jean Grey in "X-Men (2000)" before reprising the role in 2003's "X2: X-Men United". Despite her character's death, the Dutch native returned in 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand" and appeared in a flashback in "The Wolverine" and had a brief cameo in "X-Men: Days of Future Past".

Sophie Turner later took over the role as young Jean in two prequels, 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse" and 2019's "X-Men: Dark Phoenix", the latter marking the final film in the Fox franchise following Disney's purchase of 21st Century Fox. However, like a phoenix, the X-Verse rose from the ashes.

Several X-Men alumni have returned to their roles in the franchise though. The first was Evan Peters who played Peter Maximoff (a.k.a Quicksilver) in "X-Men: Days of Future Past", "X-Men: Apocalypse", "Deadpool 2" as well as "Dark Phoenix". He reprised a version of his X-Men role in "WandaVision", where he pretended to play Wanda's brother, but was revealed to be a guy named Ralph Bohner.

Others include Patrick Stewart, who played Charles Xavier in "Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness", and Kelsey Grammer who returned as Beast in The Marvels. In July of this year, Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in "Deadpool & Wolverine" after he played the character last in the 2017 film, "Logan".
