The actor earns a nod for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama category, thanks to 98-second appearance in the first episode of Disney+'s "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" as Colonel James Rupert "Rhodey" Rhodes.

Following the announcement, many fans expressed confusion on social media. Apparently, the actor himself shared the sentiment. Fans were amused by his hilarious reaction. "LOL, just give him award already," someone tweeted. "this is the most amazing response to the nomination," another fan added," while someone else called his tweet "the funniest s**t."

In the less-than-3 minutes scene, Don's James was seen listening to Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson give a speech about donating Captain America's shield to a museum. Don is up for the nomination against "The Mandalorian" stars Carl Weathers and Timothy Olyphant, "The Crown" star Charles Dance and "Lovecraft Country" actor Courtney B. Vance.

Meanwhile, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" itself earns five nominations, including Outstanding Sound Editing, Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Outstanding Stunt Coordination and Outstanding Stunt Performance. Don's nomination is surprisingly the only acting nom given to the show as leading stars Anthony and Sebastian Stan don't make it into the nominations.

The 73rd annual Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on September 19.
