The manager of Justin Bieber checked into an intense therapy retreat as he 'started to spiral' while dealing with his mental health issues before he eventually parted ways with wife.

AceShowbiz - Music mogul Scooter Braun quietly checked into an intense therapy retreat in the months leading up to his marriage separation after struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Justin Bieber's manager, who has reportedly split from Yael Cohen, reveals he sought treatment through the seven-day Hoffman Process programme in California to help work through his negative thoughts.

"My wife and I began to hear all kinds of rumours, like, '(Scooter) has gone crazy.' But it wasn't that. It was just feeling like I wasn't present in my life, and (feeling) like the people around me who loved me, I felt their hurt," he recently explained on Jay Shetty's "On Purpose" podcast.

"Because, one, we're all coming in with our own trauma, and weirdly our trauma was matching up, and... I couldn't fix it. And I'm a fixer. Since I was a kid, I was the guy who was going to make it OK for everybody. And I just couldn't fix things in this moment in time."

Braun admits he "started to spiral" - and knew he needed to take immediate action, "A very dark thought came into my head - the ultimate 'I'm not enough'; the ultimate 'I shouldn't be here.' I immediately thought - what are you doing here? And I've never gone that dark. And I signed up for the Hoffman Project the next day."

The manager, who also counts Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato among his superstar clients, had signed up to the course on four prior occasions, but pulled out of the trip each time, until he realised he needed to undergo the treatment for his family.

"You know what happened? My wife Yael, and my children," he shared. "I learned I love someone more than me, and loving them made me go do the work."

The Hoffman Process retreat is popular among celebrities, with Bieber, Katy Perry, and Sienna Miller all previously attending the week-long course.

It's unclear when exactly Braun checked into the facility, but he was initially rumoured to have visited the site last autumn (20), according to the New York Post's Page Six.

Braun and Cohen marked seven years of marriage last week (06Jul21), but are said to have called it quits over the weekend.

Despite the separation, Page Six sources claim the pair has no current plans to divorce and will continue to live together to co-parent their three young children.
