AceShowbiz - The 2021 Cannes Film Festival has officially begun with a star-studded event. On Tuesday, July 6, the likes of Bella Hadid, Jessica Chastain and Candice Swanepoel attended the screening of Leos Carax's "Annette" which marked the launch of the French Riviera spectacular.
Academy Award-winning actress Jessica wowed in a black strapless ballgown with layered tulle skirt. She wore minimal accessory with only a necklace and sported her signature cherry red lipstick.
Supermodel Candice literally shone on the red carpet in a glittering nude-colored catsuit with a very plunging neckline and fringed sleeves. She completed her glamorous looks with a necklace and matching earrings.
Also serving as a feast for the eyes was Marion Cotillard, who stars in the fantastical musical "Annette". Hitting the red carpet with her co-stars Adam Driver and Simon Helberg, she sizzled in a metallic silver one-shoulder gown. Adam opted for a traditional black-and-white look with a bow-tie, while Simon went unconventional in a blue suit with a black bow-tie.
Jodie Foster, who is the recipient of the Palme d'Or Life Achievement Award this year, posed on the red carpet with her wife Alexandra Hedison. She donned a white dress, while her other-half contrasted her looks in a dark number.
Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is a jury member at this year's festival, looked elegant in a champagne-colored dress with a cape. MJ Rodriguez donned a head-to-toe lace gown, while Katerina Graham looked fierce in a green dress.
After being canceled last year due to the pandemic, the 74th edition of the event returns this year from July 6-17.
