Aside from praising the 'No Time To Die' star, the former 007 depicter agrees with fans that Idris Elba and Tom Hardy should be favorites in replacing the 'Knives Out' actor.

AceShowbiz - Pierce Brosnan has applauded his James Bond successor Daniel Craig, insisting the Brit can walk away from the franchise with his head held high.

Craig will end his tenure as 007 with "No Time To Die" and the man he replaced as Bond admits he has been very impressed with what the "Knives Out" star has done with the character.

"He was magnificent and he can walk away head up, shoulders back," Brosnan says. "He truly left an indelible mark on the franchise."

Pierce also has a take on who should take over from Craig, agreeing with fans that Idris Elba and Tom Hardy should be favorites.

"Idris is such a powerful presence and [has] such a great voice tensity. He would be magnificent," the former Bond explains. "And Tom can really chew the furniture up, just be a ball boy - both men can."

Rege-Jean Page, Tom Hiddleston, Henry Cavill, and Sam Heughan are also among the favorites to pick up the Bond ball from Daniel Craig.

Brosnan went on to say, "And I think now that Daniel has left such an indelible footprint, they can go in many different ways. But your guess is as good as mine, who's going to be the next Bond." He further stressed, "There's no other franchise like it. Nothing."

Elba himself has shared his thought on being a favorite to replace Craig. Back in April, the "Luther" star admitted, "I know the rumors about Bond have always chased me. Listen, my poor mum is like 'One day you're going to get it!' I was like 'Mum, I'm good, I've got Luther!' I'm definitely doing that."
